Is there a hair relaxer that will relax my hair, yet leave it curly and not straighten it?

ok i am 16 years old, and im white... but i have EXTREMELY poofy, curly, frizzy hair. i use all sorts of curling creams, mousses, and other hair products to keep my hair tamed. they all leave my hair crunchy, and my hair still gets VERY poofy as it completely dries. my hair is so hard to manage, and im tired of trying all these products that dont work. i want to get a hair relaxer, but the thing is, i LOVE curly hair... and i DONT want it straight. does anyone know of a hair relaxer i can get that will tame the poof, but leave my curls??? please help! thanks for reading :]Is there a hair relaxer that will relax my hair, yet leave it curly and not straighten it?
Hello

Would you say your hair has the texture of afro hair? If so you could see about going to a specific hairdresser of website who cater for black hair who should help. You can buy chemical straighteners form pharmacists or beauty stores (such as Boots). These are meant to be a home product but I dont know how well they work but they might be perfect for you as you dont want to get totally rid of your curls but it might leave your hair uneven! You could see about going to a standard hairdresser and explain what you would like, they can chemically straighten hair too.

Have you ever thought that maybe your use too many products in your hair? Using too many products can usually leave it crunchy.

Try using a clarifying shamppo to clear your hair of debris, use an over night conditioner or hot oil treatment and rinse in the morning. Apply a good conditioner. Try not to wash your hair every day as this can cause it to go frizzy. Try different styles such as your hair up or in a bun on days when you havent washed it. If you need to wash it to get rid of oil then try finding a dry shampoo--you put it in at your roots then comb it out --it sucks all the oil up and freshens your hair!

Rinse your hair with a blast of cold water at the end to seal the shafts and make it less frizzy. Also when drying your hair dont grab it with your towel and rub it this causes df#amage. Wrap your hair in the towel for five mins take off and press the towel onto your hair. Your hair may feel wetter but this is less damaging to curly hair. Use a wide tooth comb to get out all the knots and tangles and apply your hairdryer heat down wards, dont brush your hair while drying but rather use a diffuser to encourage bounce and not frizz.

You could also try sleeping with a silk scarf wrapped round your head so that you are not damaging it while you sleep. Please try the above steps for at least two to three weeks before you try the relaxer as it will make your hair healthier and you may also find that you dont need the relaxer afterall! Please email if you hneed more help
