Can i use a hair relaxer for soft fine hair?

I have soft fine curly hair and when i blow dry it it comes straight but then after a hour or so it starts curling again, so i wanted to relax it just a bit to keep it straight when blow drying it. I don't want a relaxer to burn my hair or break it... i reside in south africa and i do not have that black coarse hair its just curly , please help...Can i use a hair relaxer for soft fine hair?
Hair relaxers are extrememly damaging. Now that being said, some salons will do a test to see if your hair can handle it. If your hair can, i suggest using a shampoo/conditioner that is for damaged hair. Anything repairing. Do not buy anything that claims to repair split ends. Once the hair splits it's done. Not only will the relaxer relax the curls, it will also decrease some volume in your hair. Finally, results aren't promised to last as long as they claim. But if you make hair relaxing a regular thing I strongly recommend that you don't relax your hair more then 4 times a year. again, thats MAXIMUM.Can i use a hair relaxer for soft fine hair?
I would not recommend it. AT ALL. relaxers are made for coarse hair with a highly compact cuticle. You would more then likely end up with out hair then anything. Buy a flat iron if your looking for straight hair.
DO NOT I REPEAT DOOOO NOOOOT! Chemical relaxers are the most damaging services you can have done on your hair. They change the chemical makeup of your hair. They will damage your hair and you will be left with none, if your hair is fine.

If it is fine, just blow dry it everyday, it is way more worth it than melting your hair off. I don't even offer this service at the salon I work at because it is very damaging. I work with caucasian clients (not many African Americans in my area) and I would never apply one to this fine kind of hair texture that you have. I would only use it with great caution on African American hair or very coarse hispanic hair.

This will give you a hair cut---a chemical cut is what stylists call it! haha : )

Ok if you want volume and bounce, the best way to do it is to use a boar bristle brush and just get volume at the roots. You dont have to spend a long time on it, just get the volume in there. Power dry your hair upside down then smooth it for a minute or so with a boar bristle round brush. Then run a flat iron over the ends, not the roots to preserve the volume. Use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, which prevents it from frizzing up and it also reduces blow dry time.

If you dont feel like messing with your hair and you would rather damage it by relaxing it, then its up to you. I have seen this happen where it literally melts the hair to where it turns to goop in between your fingers.

Or just cut your hair shorter to make it easier to maintain. If you wash your hair every other day, its really not that much to do for yourself.

If you want a chemical haircut caused by breakage- it doesn't look good at all.
