Used ';Just for Me'; hair relaxer on my 5 yr old daughter (read on....)?

Yesterday I relaxed my daughters hair. She had been complaining that she didn't like the frizz and cried all the time so I did the relaxer yesterday thinking I would only have lose curls. Well it came out perfectly straight, have done this before so I knew what I was doing. Anyways, it looks really greasy and I wanted to wash it. Will this effect the way her hair looks if I was it? And how long should it stay this way?Used ';Just for Me'; hair relaxer on my 5 yr old daughter (read on....)?
The relaxer should last from 6 to 8 weeks. And washing it once or twice a week won't effect it much. It won't be as completely straight as when you first relaxed it but that cannot be helped. If you want it to be super straight all the time I recommend using pink lotion or olive oil (or whatever you use to keep her hair from drying out)apply it every eveing and have her sleep with a silk scarf around her hair every night. This will help immensely.

I do this whenever I have a straight weave in so I don't have to flat iron my hair as often. It really helps!Used ';Just for Me'; hair relaxer on my 5 yr old daughter (read on....)?
Let a pro do it every 6/8 wks and wash it in between that time with moisture rich products. I had my daughter's hair relaxed at 5 yrs, she is African American though. I am with you b/c I know that mixed race children have an in between texture that make it harder to manage without damaging it.

im looking at all the answers and let me tell u i have a four going on five year old and these ';bad influences'; are the disney princesses and hannah montana. She sees them and thats what she wants to look like, and my daughter is BEAUTIFUL i mean model pretty. so please dont judge.

Well if you wash it ........it wont Be straight any more.....It will be slightly wavy........i have my hair relaxed last month and i kept it straight for about a week and i washed it out there will be really pretty curls and her hair will feel a lot thinner and softer .........!
I would use a shampoo for oily hair. But if you do that it might take out all the relaxer and her hair will go back to the way it was
i wouldve said use the childrens texturizer (because that would just open up the curl) , but you have already relaxed the hair. if you wash, make sure you blowdry with comb. it will change the texture of the hair but only slightly. my child is of the same races, and i am afraid to put a chemical in her hair. but i have been thinking of using a texturizer to make it more managable. let me know if you hear some good ideas.
isnt 5 years too young to relax her hair? any way, dont wash it immediately after the 1 st wash. this might affect the texture and even cause breakage or hair fall. leave it, the greasiness will go a fter some time.
yeah if you wash it it'll just go back curly.

if you have a 5 year old crying because she hates her hair then you have some bad influences going on around her.
