I prefer Mizani and I use a Lye relaxer. I never use the box stuff because over time it will cause your hair to become hard and break off. I would recommend finding a stylist to look at your texture to determine the best relaxer. Optimum is also really good!

dr. miracle is great because it's gentle and won't cause as much damage as others. the key to doing it at home is to separate hair evenly and distribute the cream quickly!
if it's your first relaxer, i suggest you go to the salon. it's expensive, but it'll be worth it to avoid regret from damage!
