is that the only way i can get my very poofy hair to stay straight? i've tried thinning it out, straighteners and serums but it will never be nice like it is when it is wet! so is there other options like getting it chemically straight so that it does not poof up like a lions mane??Hair relaxer?
PLEASE DO NOT CHEMICALLY STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR!!
Chemical relaxers are for curly hair, not poofy. putting a chemical relaxer on your hair is so damaging. The relaxer has the same chemical composition as Drano and Nair. It breaks the bonds in the hair and starts to dissolve it, that is why is straightens it. However, just like perms dont look like natural curl, relaxers will not make you board straight.
I suggest a deep conditioning protein treatment, put on a shower cap and leave it on for 45 minutes, or if you can stand it, sleep in it. Also, invest in a good CHI straightening iron, but make sure you are using a thermal protector!!!
