My hair is extremely curly I was thinking of getting a mild relaxer. Will it straighten it or loosen the curls?

Or is it a good idea to get one at allMy hair is extremely curly I was thinking of getting a mild relaxer. Will it straighten it or loosen the curls?
It really depends. You can under-process a relaxer and it will loosen your curl pattern. A relaxer is used to permanently straighten hair and you touch-up your new growth every now and then. A texturizer is a low-grade relaxer and this will loosen your curl pattern. Since a texturizer is a relaxer you can still permanently straighten your hair with it if you leave it on too long.

Relaxers are very harsh chemicals that break down the hair's bond to permanently straighten it. This weakens the hair and make it more prone to breakage. There are many ways a relaxer can break off your hair, from not giving it the amount of moisture it needs (it dries out your hair and scalp) to over-lapping it on your already relaxed hair (you WILL have hair breakage), to leaving it on too long (you can get severe scalp burns and breakage - over-processing) and there are other ways in which it can be over-processed.

It's up to you but I suggest letting a professional put it in if this is what you want. If you want to get rid of the relaxer then you have to cut it out of your hair.My hair is extremely curly I was thinking of getting a mild relaxer. Will it straighten it or loosen the curls?

Personally i have never used it, but my friend has, and it doesnt straighten it but it loosens the curls. It makes it more maintainable
Relaxers are normally used on more ethnic hair. Granted i do not know your hair type but it might damage it more than help it.
it depends more than likely it will loosen them enough so you can hold a hair style longer and much easier.
go for permanent hair straitning but with good hair professional lady
