For all those looking into relaxers while pregnant, I asked my doc who said it was fine (although some people do avoid any chemicals in the first trimester), BUT AS A WARNING...it may not take to your hair, there's something about the hormones, but you could end up like me, with hair as curly as ever and out of $200!! No one warned me that pregnant hair is so different (and by the way, I do know a woman who had the same treatment as me put on her hair during pregnancy and it came out great, so I guess it's just a gamble) 3943883

It's probably not harmful, but you should get some braids...
As always consult your OB if you are unsure if something is safe while pregnant. But I would not think a hair relaxer would be safe for baby, being that dying your hair isn't even recommended.
I asked my doctor and she said that as long as there is no lye in the relaxer and you don't leave it on too long, so that it doesn't get into your blood .
