How long should I wait for another relaxer?I just got my hair relaxed and cut short at the end of august, but it looks like I already need another relaxer?
You're talking about your roots, right or the entire length of your hair? You definitely don't want to re-relax the portion already relaxed, especially now. That would be too much. What kind of relaxer and what was the strength? You may want to try another brand/strength. When I relaxed, my hair responded better to Cream of Nature, Mild...all other relaxers my hair just didn't like. They left my hair to straight, feeling dry, etc. Personally I would wait about 6 weeks before I do a touch up, which is usually the time you have enough new growth to relax without disturbing the relaxed portion. Remember relaxers are very strong chemicals, you don't want to over process your hair or irritate your scalp more then necessary.I just got my hair relaxed and cut short at the end of august, but it looks like I already need another relaxer?
You do notice your new growth more with a shorter haircut like pixie or bobs at the ear and it does effect the look of the style itself - hair not laying down. But you should still wait 4 weeks, perhaps go to a mild relaxer unless you have real angry natural hair.
I believe it is every 6 weeks that you can apply relaxer to the new-growth hair only. But also, if you feel that the hair that was processed didn't last very long, maybe you need one that is just a little stronger. Discuss with beautician.
