Relaxers in general can lead to dry brittle hair. Years ago when I relaxed my hair I had the same problem. Eventually I just cut it all off and went natural. If natural is not an option, you should make sure you're not overprocessing your hair by lengthening the time between touch ups, applying the relaxer only to new growth, and if financially possible get a professional to do it for you. Also, deep condition your hair afterwards and any time you wash your hair, keep your ends trimmed, and try to wear a scarf or sleep cap at night.
As far as styling your hair, find a style that requires little heat maintenance and doesn't constantly pull at the hair (like ponytails and tight braids).Does Dr. Miracle relaxer dry your hair? I used Dr. Miracle 3 times and it has dried my hair leaving it stiff?
It made my hair dry as well. I thought maybe it was my technique. I just decided to stop self-relaxing and go to the salon for a relaxer and set only. My stylist uses Mizani and it leaves my hair silky. I also started using Surge Plus 14 revitalizer and it keeps my hair really conditioned especially when I do wet sets. My suggestions are to get your hair relaxed only at a salon and use a really good leave-in conditioner every other night.
Never happened to me. I use Dr. Miracles relaxer. My hair came out soft, silk, with a lot of body ,and shine. i do not know what you did wrong. It sounds like you have not added a hair dressing to your hair and scalp.
After I finish the application I add Luster's Pink Moisturizing Oil to my hair before I wet set it.
