Can someone talk to me about relaxers/chemical straightners for very short hair??

i have very short hair and its not curly but had some wave to it and I'm getting very tired of screwing with it.. I have color treated hair and my hair is too short for any sort of heated straightners. i know that chemical straightners do quite a bit of damage to hair but since i keep mine so short by the time its damaged to the max (if that happens) it'll be getting cut off... should i do this at home (we have a beauty supply store in my city and i don't need a beauty license to purchase anything so i could probably get a nice product (as nice as you can with this stuff) or should i pay 40 damn dollars for hair that is an inch in length to be straightened? Can someone talk to me about relaxers/chemical straightners for very short hair??
I'll do my best to answer your questions as I possibly can. Short hair can be a lion to deal with at times but it seems as though you may have a bit of damage from it being color-treated. Short hair can be gelled or moussed and tied down to lie flat on your head. There are chemical straighteners that are No-Lye based. Meaning that they have no sodium hydroxide in them but can gently straighten your hair. Now..depending on what look you are sporting you have an option or two. First you can go to a salon, ask a few questions BEFORE you sit in the chair. Or you can get a relaxer (Kiddie-perm (they aren't real strong, they're formulated for children) which wouldn't be a bad thing since you have color-treated hair, or the No-Lye (used on adults and often have more than one strength in their product line.)

Organic Root Stimulator makes an Olive Oil relaxer (No-Lye) that is sold in beauty supply store everywhere. You can purchase the Mild/Regular strength and do it yourself at home. Everything that you'd need to complete the process is already included inside the box.

If doing it yourself seems to be too much then I'd recommend that you DO go into the salon, ask your questions and IF you are comfortable with their responses then allow them to service you.

Good Luck!!

PS. If you hair IS that short, you can get a funky 'spiked' curled 'do. We (stylists) are able to curl hair that is the size of a grain of rice!!Can someone talk to me about relaxers/chemical straightners for very short hair??
You could most definitely get a product from the local beauty supply that will be professional for your hair. Your hair is just like mine being short, and somewhat wavy. There is hardly a chance that it will be too damaged since you cut it frequently. I have found with my hair that when I color my hair, it tames it down somewhat. Since you color yours, you may be better off getting a professional straightener and do it yourself.
Pay the GodDAMM 40 dollars because your don't want to fry your hair off, especially if your have never done it before.
i dont really get it your hair isnt curly but has a good wave to it, but is only an inch long??...use gel or blow dry it straight
