I agree with the last poster: go to a professional! Also, I hate to say it, but when you perm your hair to the point where it looks bushy, the only solution is to cut it. Sure, you can camouflage the damage so that you can cut it little by little, but eventually, the damaged hair has to go. The beauty industry has made a killing selling ';hair repair'; kits, but results are temporary at best. What can i do with my damaged hair caused by a relaxer?
At this point, it is all about moisture and repair.
I would suggest looking on Carol's Daughter to see what might work on your hair (the hair balm is very good but you might prefer the butter).

You're going to have to try to undo some of the damage caused by the relaxer on your hair that was touched by it but you also want to promote new growth. I don't know how long your hair is but if it is medium to long, you can try the following:
1. Try using the balm/hair butter to keep it smoothed down and to add moisture to help control the frizziness.
2. When washing your hair, use a shampoo that has conditioner in it since you don't want to strip your hair any further of any natural healthy oils.
3. If you have a bonnet dryer and rollers, wet roller set your hair and sit under a medium heat (too much heat will cause frizziness and more damage). This will help to control it and stop the big hair look.
4. If you are in a pinch and you need to pull a look together quickly, put some moisturizer in your hair, slick it back into a ponytail or bun. This again will cut down on the big hair look and provide your hair with the protection it needs while it ';heals';.
Hope this helps.
Well, First off you should start using Infusium shampoo and conditioner. If you blow dry your hair lay off on that, especially if you want to straighten your hair, definitely do not blow dry your hair then straighten it. There is also this syrum Infusium has to make your hair healthy again, go to sally's hair store, they will help you find what exactly you need.
I agree with not using the blow dryer for a while. Try wearing your hair in styles that don't require extensive daily combing and styling such as a roller set. Deep condition every week or as often as you wash your hair to help with repairing the damage.
You should also find some good products for damaged hair (i.e. repair serums, etc.). If you can afford it, you may want to consider going to a stylist for a while until your hair gets healthier.
I suggest the next time you put in a relaxer that you let a professional do it, or at the very least go to a hair school, if one is in your area. Relaxers have very harsh chemicals that can badly burn and disfigure your scalp and make your hair fall out, so you want to be extremely careful when using one. If a perm doesn't work for you then you might have to consider transitioning back to natural.
It sounds like this is your first time having a relaxer in your hair, if so then you need to learn how to take care of relaxed hair because it's not common sense. Check out the long hair care forum and black hair media for advice and products to use to keep your hair healthy.
