Because without a relaxer my hair is wavy and kinda straight and I don't want anything that is permanent or harsh. Also I am an African American. I also have shoulder length hairIs there anyway to make relaxed hair curly or wavy without growing out of a relaxer ?

I use Lotta Body Setting Lotion and I roll up my hair every night with the plastic, snap on magnetic rollers. My hair is also relaxed and shoulder length.
Your question is very muddy but I will try to answer. If you now have a relaxer and you want to wear it wavy or curly you can by using special shampoos and leave-in conditioners and gels for reviving curls. Of course this will last from shampoo to shampoo and ou will have to add a little bit of water with the gel in between to keep the look until the next shampoo.
On the other hand, you say that your hair is 'wavy and kinda straight without a relaxer, so WHY ARE YOU RELAXING IT? It would work better if you did not use chemical straigtheners and just use the type of products I suggest to get the curly look you crave.
my daughter is puerto rican/black..teenager..she just wets her hair and uses a soft curl gel by garnier frutries ck spellling...and lets it air dry... curly....she is using a flat iron right now since she wants it straight today after yesterdays curl....lol ...I relax her hair with just for me ';child perm'; every 6 weeks
You could try a straw set - it uses a setting lotion %26amp; rods to make your hair curly. Its temporary %26amp; it should wash out when you're ready to go back to your regular style.
use holding spary after curling the hair.
