Is it possible that someone's hair doesn't work well with perms or relaxers PERIOD?

My mother is a cosmetologist and says that she doesn't like how the relaxer in my hair, makes it thin, than its usual thick density.

She prefers the press and curl/natural process.

My hair is medium texture (between coarse and fine). Is it possible that someone's hair doesn't work well with perms or relaxers PERIOD?
Just like not all medications work for everyone, this is the same with hair care chemicals... Perms/relaxers are harsh chemicals and are not for everyone. If your experiencing breakage and thin hair, that's not a good sign of healthy hair.

P.S. If most chicks, as you say, are dealing with tangles and breakage, than they too don't have healthy hair and most likely cause is that both you and these other girls don't know the proper way to take care of your hair (no offense).

Also, there is a direct correlation between combing/brushing your hair too much as breakage. You hair follicle is already broken down by the chemical...so adding the harshness of brushing/combing (pressing, tugging, pulling, etc.) can/will cause further damage.

Good luck.Is it possible that someone's hair doesn't work well with perms or relaxers PERIOD?
yea its possible but thats different than you not taking care of youre hair the right way and there is only one right way
not everyone's hair takes a perm unfortunately
