Because without a relaxer my hair is wavy and kinda straight and I don't want anything that is permanent or harsh. Also I am an African American. I also have shoulder length hairIs there anyway to make relaxed hair curly or wavy without growing out of a relaxer ?
try hawiian silk and a curly weave. Is there anyway to make relaxed hair curly or wavy without growing out of a relaxer ?
scrunch it then brush it so u have loose waves
I use Lotta Body Setting Lotion and I roll up my hair every night with the plastic, snap on magnetic rollers. My hair is also relaxed and shoulder length.
Your question is very muddy but I will try to answer. If you now have a relaxer and you want to wear it wavy or curly you can by using special shampoos and leave-in conditioners and gels for reviving curls. Of course this will last from shampoo to shampoo and ou will have to add a little bit of water with the gel in between to keep the look until the next shampoo.
On the other hand, you say that your hair is 'wavy and kinda straight without a relaxer, so WHY ARE YOU RELAXING IT? It would work better if you did not use chemical straigtheners and just use the type of products I suggest to get the curly look you crave.
my daughter is puerto rican/black..teenager..she just wets her hair and uses a soft curl gel by garnier frutries ck spellling...and lets it air dry... curly....she is using a flat iron right now since she wants it straight today after yesterdays curl....lol ...I relax her hair with just for me ';child perm'; every 6 weeks
You could try a straw set - it uses a setting lotion %26amp; rods to make your hair curly. Its temporary %26amp; it should wash out when you're ready to go back to your regular style.
use holding spary after curling the hair.

Curly hair after relaxer?
My friend is mix black and white. She relaxed her hair a few months ago and it still hasnt gone back to normal. Is there anything she can do to get her curly hair back?Curly hair after relaxer?
Nope. Relaxers are pretty permanent. The only thing she can really do is wait for it to grow back.Curly hair after relaxer?
Umm, no.
The point of a relaxer is to permanently straighten your hair. She made the choice to do it, and now has to lay in the bed she made. Sorry.
But once her hair starts growing out, the new growth will be her natural hair again. She will have to grow out her hair.
Wash it? or go back to the place where she got it relaxed and ask them how you can get it back to normal!
good luck

i'm the one on the left. when it grows out its almost nappy. i was wondering if the dark and lovely relaxer would work for me? I know it says that it should be for african american women, but i have thier hair texture.Dark and lovely relaxer for my textured hair?
I'm not sure about that brand, you could try getting your hair relaxed at a salon if you'd like. :) If you don't want to spend to much money, try giving the product a try, or you could look up reviews of it on google. If you do get your hair relaxed make sure you get a good deep conditioner and try to sleep on a satin pillow case to keep your hair from getting damaged. :)
If you have anymore questions, email me and I'll be glad to help. ^.^
good luck! :DDark and lovely relaxer for my textured hair?
I think you should get it professionally relaxed. I've tried plenty relaxers from stores and they don't work or last as long as those the professionals use. But if your hair is soft and doesn't need a perm very often, it might work for you, but you still have to be careful because you can seriously damage or break your hair if it's not done correctly. Just get someone experienced to do it for you.
thanks for the answer on my page i think i might try it. :]
well anyway, yes i think that might work and another thing to
try is straightening your hair and just using a protector before and it will be beaitifully straight. hope i helped. (:
why not call your hairdresser, and ask her about it i wouldnt do it if i was not completly sure about it, if you see your hairdresser u have nothing to loose, and she might do it aswell, just take youre prodyct and urself and goo!
Well, while I really don't know for sure, but anything I've heard about people relaxing thier hair has turned out bad....
i agreeacne scars

How long should wait for a relaxer before washing my hair?
i'm black i just wash my hair today in 4 months i haven't wash my hair for 4 months straight
i wanna put my relaxer in thursday
i don't want it to get tangle
is it to soonHow long should wait for a relaxer before washing my hair?
Yikes... you should wash your hair more often. At least once a week. Do a deep conditioner also.Your scalp needs to breath. :) This makes your hair grow,
Wash your hair and do your normal routine. about 2 or 3 days later get it relaxed. Your relaxer will respond better if your hair doesn't have a bunch of product, oil, and sebum on it.

Can you put a relaxer on human weaving hair. I just got a sewin and washed the hair and it is nappy and unman
I don't know what brand hair you have in your head, but I wouldnt recommend it. You either have hair in that is not good quality or you just need to wash it. Alot of times, when you put products in your hair, the buildup of cremes, oil, holding spray or what ever you use in your hair will cause the hair to look dry and untamed. Wash your hair and see what happens. Putting some heat on it, works as well.. flat iron it and see if there is a changeCan you put a relaxer on human weaving hair. I've been in that situation and I just put a conditioner on it and left it on for like ten minutes rinsed int but I blow dried it not with the comb attatchment but without. And then i just flat ironed it. I used Motions moisture plus conditioner btw.... Also next time don't use shampoo just use conditioner shampoo can dry it out.Can you put a relaxer on human weaving hair. I just got a sewin and washed the hair and it is nappy and unman
Use a flat iron on it. Try a product like biosilk to make it softer and more manageable. Start at the end of the hair to comb out any tangles and work your way up.

Relaxer or hair straightener?
I have curly (kinky) hair. I want to get it straightened permanantly but not very sure about it. Acutally I am toying between permanant hair straightening and relaxers. I got the hair straightened in Japanese style before but I didn't like the poker straight look.
How does hair look when relaxer is used? Can I wear it down? What is the level of damage caused with straightener and relaxer.
Has anyone got the curly hair relaxed and how do you feel about it?
Thanks in Advance.Relaxer or hair straightener?
Funny how we always want the opposite of what we have. I have straight hair and would loooove to have curly hair.
At any rate, I hope you will rethink your desire for straight hair--relaxers and other chemical processes always, always damage your natural hair. Plus, the chemicals can be dangerous to your health. I'm just wondering if there is a better alternative for you, like maybe a different hairstyle or haircut that is flattering and suitable for your face.
I am guessing that you may be black from your hair description. I don't have a lot of experience with that type of hair, but quite a lot of the ladies (and some men) on the message boards at http://www.longhaircommunity.com can give you really good advice on how to make the best of the hair you have. It's geared, obviously, towards growing long hair but the information you get there can be applied to any length of hair. Another really good message board is The Hair Care Family, http://s7.invisionfree.com/the_hair_care鈥?/a>
but I'm not sure how many black people post there; you might get more pertinent information at the first place (though the second place has nicer people imo). Best of all may be http://www.naturallycurly2.com/home/inde鈥?/a>

Relax
Relax your hair you only have to do it once a month but be warned IT HURTS I just did it and i have a burn on the side of my head and all the harir fell out so do it professionally if you have longer than shoulder lentgh and yes if well done you can wear it down and it looks nice
i have hair like that and have not found no straightners that work. i straighten my hair every two days and i use a blowdryer and curling iron and it lasts antil i wash my hair again.
hair straighter. relaxers are not good for your hair.
I have curly hair, and a hair straightener works well for me! Chi's are the best though!
If you're tender-scalped, then a relaxer just won't do (but I'm saying that because the hair stylists I worked with never listened to me when I was complaining about my scalp burning after only a few minutes).
My personal experience with having my hair relaxed had to due w/lots of burning (imagine your hair getting dried onto a scalp that's trying to scab up and heal itself...painful separating the hair from the damaged scalp...and it takes about a week or two before it does successfully scab and heal w/o the hair getting caught in the process), and the hair falling out after I decided not to torture myself for straighter hair and have gone the natural way since.
Have you tried just constantly having your hair in braids? Depending on who you go to, it could be costly, but it's low maintenence, and the hair's guaranteed to grow (unless someone tries to yank it from the roots).
hey...wel i tried the japanese one as well n didnt like my hair flat as well...
neway if u want PERMANENT...go for MATRIX permanent str8in... they use ions n change the protein in your hair forever n make it tr8...havent tried so cnt say
but recently i got the 6 months straightening n used the compnay KADUS...it was comparatively cheaper n obviously kadus is good quality....i just told the hair stylist...i didnt want them totally flat so she washed my hair in 30 mins instead of 45-60 mins and plus...she reduced the concentration of some product for the front hair so that gave my hair volume and yeh i told her i didnt want my haie ends to be dead str8...so she turned (bent) the tips with her fingers and held it that way for a few mins... n i love my hair now...i get the blow dry effect everyday! n yeh kadus aint that damaging to your hair..
i would advise u consult a hair stylist first and tell them all that ur looking for...so they do i the way u want them to be
n yeh! do not go for relaxers..they make your hair look dry n frizzy
hope that helps u
well this season is more about going for natural look so bye bye silky hair hello to the waves and curs also bones are so so on fashion so forget about the silky look and try the wavy one ;)
Why don't you try an anti-curl by Rusk? You have to have it done professionally, but it doesn't straighten it all the way.
I have curly/kinky hair too. For a long time I hated my hair and wished I had straight hair. But now that I'm older I've learned to appreciate my curls and like the option of having it straightened temporarily or wearing it curly. It seems like you're unsure of what you really want to do with your hair, so I suggest that you don't apply any chemicals to your hair yet.
I've used relaxers in the past and they've really damaged my hair. I suggest visiting a Ouidad salon (I'm not sure where you reside but if you look on-line you may find a location near you). They taught me how to tame my hair so I can feel comfortable wearing it curly and they have ';hair softeners'; which can loosen up your curls since you don't like the pin straight look. Good Luck...I know how challenging curly hair can be...!

Hair relaxer?
Is there any type of Hair relaxer or texturizers that does not burn??. My hair is wavy/curly but I still need to use a relaxer (a mild or soft one) but I'm trying to look for one that does not burn. Details are welcome. ThanksHair relaxer?
You might just need to stay away from relaxers, and find other (healthier) ways of straightening your hair (roller sets, sitting under dryer with seran wrap etc...). I've heard that even the no-lye/';mild'; formulas for relaxers have dangerous chemicals in them (similar to Draino and Nair), so that's probably why you burn.Hair relaxer?
Burn? You mean burning the scalp? The relaxer should come with a gel solution that you put on your ears, neck and hairline to prevent product irritation there. If the product is burning your scalp as soon as you put it in your hair, your allergic to the product or you might just have a really sensitive scalp. You're supposed to do a test beforehand to make sure this doesn't happen in you suspect you might be allergic. If the product burns after it's been in your hair for a while, it could be an indicator that you've left it in your hair way too long. Try Soft and Beautiful No Lye Hair Relaxer, because it could be the lye in some of the relaxers that is burning. Stick to no lye relaxers.
Also, try a child's relaxer, those tend to be very gentle.
Hope that helps!
