Question about Silk Elements Hair Relaxer?

Ok first off, I am white and Egyptian and I have kinky, curly, dry hair. I went to sallys beaty supply today and the lady gave me a hair relaxer called SILK ELEMENTS. It is originally for African-Americans but she said it should work fine on my hair. So, I used it and Yes, it did work! But, I want to know if it'll be safe to wash my hair on wednesday or would it make the relaxer come out the first time i wash it? [i usually wash my hair every other day] If anyone could help me with this i would greatly apreciate itQuestion about Silk Elements Hair Relaxer?

Sodium hydroxide relaxers are formulated for anybody with the type of hair you have, white or black. No, it will not come out and is not a perm but a relaxer. The hair texture is permanently straightened.

The day that you did your perm you always wait a week before you wash it for the first time and it wont come out.
I would wait about 5 days then you should be good.

I need a good Hair relaxer?

I have very curly hair and ive always hated it. So i always kinda keep it really short, like in buzz cut. I was wondering what brand of relaxer can i buy. Ive been using ogilvie relaxer, but its too weak, because it took me about 4 tries to get my hair straight, and that really damaged my hair. Also, i want a relaxer that you can use more than once, Ex, ogilvie comes in two parts, the relaxer, and the neutralizer. I have short hair, so i can use 1 bottle for like 3 appplications . I dont want one that you have to mix an activator into the relaxer, because it will only be good for one time. Money is kinda tight so i want to use a kit more than once. Thanks.

Ps, to give you an idea, my hair is kinda like this

u could prob use relaxer like bantu, but whatever u get, make sure it says mild, and not regular or super. something like this comes in a jar, and u can use it more than once bcause u don't hav 2 do any mixing. i'm confused about the neutralizer part, maybe u meant activator. either way, when doing any relaxer, u'll hav 2 use neutralizing shampoo, or ur hair will fall out. btw-bantu only costs about $5 a jarI need a good Hair relaxer?

I just got my hair relaxer put in yesterday, so how long should I wait to wash it?

Does it have to be a week? My first day of school is in 5 days and my hair is incredibly dry. I just got my hair relaxer put in yesterday, so how long should I wait to wash it?
OK, I'll start over here.

I'm a black girl, 28 years old, and I have had a relaxer for the last ten years of my life.

Real relaxers that black people use (AKA your hair goes from India Arie 1970s afro to Queen Latifah's kinda-straight kinda-not hair) is a thick white cream that smells and burns. If your scalp didn't become uncomfortably itchy, thats not what you got. If your hair texture is more like Tia and Tamera Mowry, this stuff isn't generally for you-there are gentler solutions to use. Fair warning, but people who do not have African-textured hair usually don't know how to do a relaxer. Ethnic hair styling evidently is not taught in most traditional beauty schools.

This is how you get a relaxer:

1) Apply generous amounts of the white cream to your hair-your head should be almost COMPLETELY white after this.

2) Let sit for about 15 min-it will itch/burn.

3)Wash THOROUGHLY and dry immediately

4)Apply moisturizing cream-your hair really shouldn't need much more of this until you wash it next.

5)In the US, this typically costs anywhere between $60 and $80 dollars, with a free style and trim/cut if you want it.

After this, African-textured hair should only be washed once a week at the most because it naturally dries out instead of getting greasy.

I don't know without seeing your hair, but what it really sounds like to me is that this lady used a relaxer that was to harsh for your texture of hair. If she used the heavy duty stuff, which I hope she didn't, I have no idea what that would do to Puerto Rican textured hair. Matting is probable. On African-American hair, the effects are irreversible, but maybe on your hair a licensed beautician can recommend something to help.

Hope that helps-if you have an African-American friend, I'll bet you that she or her mother can tell you just what happened.I just got my hair relaxer put in yesterday, so how long should I wait to wash it?
More than likely your hair is dry because you used the wrong products on your hair. If you don't have ethnic hair, you shouldn't be using a relaxer.

Ok...so with that said, you can wash it in a couple days and make sure you use really good professional products when you do.

Hope that helps ya!
you wash it out like after a half hour, but you can try deep conditioner everyday and it should help alot.

  • What Is The Best Hair Relaxer?

What is the the best hair relaxer you've used? My hair is like afro curly and I need one that makes your hair bone straight, so i can make it look emo. That's what I'm going for, but I cant find one that makes my hair perfectly straight. What Is The Best Hair Relaxer?
i would say the best perm u can get WITHOUT A SALON! IS AVLON AFFIRM MOISTURE PLUS CONDITIONING RELEXER KIT PRO IT WILL COME OUT BONE STRIGHT BUT I must say any perm can do it if you just let it sit in your hair for 20 mins but avlon will workWhat Is The Best Hair Relaxer?
You won't be able to buy something that will do that over the counter. You need to see a professional and have a japanese hair straightening done. Also known as thermal reconditioning or Yuko system straightening. It's very expensive but it is the only thing that will get your hair dead straight and keep it that way until it grows out.
give ur hair weekly massage With luke warm coconut oil for 15 minutes.this will make ur hair soft smooth and also relax them.

after shampooing(every time) condition ur hair.take enough conditioner and apply generously to your hair and keep for two minutes then wash it out properly.

other thing u can do is apply honey to ur hair for 15 minutes before washing hair this helps in softening.
mizani is one of the strongest perms out there...

pink is really good, and olive oil is good too.... i've heard good things about creme of nature as well.

and maybe the problem isn't the perm, maybe its how ur applying it. make sure ur smoothing down ur hair after applying it to ur whole head. U must smooth ur hair straight, or else it won't get straight..

smoothing varies from person to persons. I've had ppl rake a wide tooth comb thru my hair (like a rat tail), some use brushes, it depends. DON'T scratch thru to the scalp, or else u will irritate it and risk burns.

Is affirm a good hair relaxer?

I heard affirm is a good hair relaxer....Is this true???.........................

I want to try it I am a latino boy with really really really thick, coarse, puffy, wavy hair!!!....

My hair is currently relaxed but the roots have started to grow and my hair is getting puffy again....Should i give affirm a try...or are there any better relaxers that leave your hair as healthy as possible???

    Where do they sell it???

And should I use super strenght or regular, because I am not african american, but still have really thick hair.....Is affirm a good hair relaxer?
Affirm with fiberguard protects your hair from overprocessing. Technically only professionals can purchase that brand from wholesellers, but amazon.com has retailers that will sell to the public.

You should not relax your hair more than every 6 weeks, the sistas have learned to deal with inbetween puffiness at the roots. Is affirm a good hair relaxer?
Naturalaxer seems to be a good one, but honestly you should go to a beauty salon so they can recommend u one. The common mistake of most people is that if u buy the stronger one is better, false!!! A friend of mine buy a relaxer and she ended with almost no hair on her head. After u talk to a a beauty consultant you should check if u can combine later the Keratoin treatment, remember everything damages hair, keratin is a good ';cheap'; option for healthy straight hair. Ions is another treatment for straight hair that last a year and the damage is minimum. Buena suerte y espero que puedas lucir una melena lacia pronto!

Should I get a hair relaxer before my surgery?

i am having my surgery on Aug. 7th and i scheduled my hair appointment on Sunday I'm wondering if my hair will fall out because of the anesthesia. Should I go ahead or wait?Should I get a hair relaxer before my surgery?
    wow you should go natural

see how your hair is in control

you can't have surgery without wondering and worrying

if your relaxed hair will fall out

relaxers control your life in a bad way

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aWlYOUlA鈥?/a>

    But to answer you question

no your hair shouldn't fall out

but i would get a relaxer after i feel better

because you want that relaxer (creamy crack) to looks nice

when you can go outShould I get a hair relaxer before my surgery?
cancel it or do it sooner you cant Evan wear nail polish or perfume so the chemicals aren't good for there
I would wait until after the surgery and not because of hair falling out (which honestly I don't know if it will or will not happen) but simply because your hair is not the important focus. you can look cute after the surgery.

What To Do With Hair Relaxer Touch-up Trouble?

I just got a relaxer touch-up about three weekends ago at a beauty school salon.

I've been going there for a while, and they usually do a good job.

However this recent visit turned out to be a disappointment.

I soon realized after I got the touch-up, that it didn't not go through well.

The back of my head, the front, and even parts of my hair were still ';rough'; and ';crinkly'; and ';un-permed'; one might say.

I really don't want to go back and get another touch-up or have someone at home do it for me. Plus I think you are supposed to wait a few months before getting another one, due to the damage it can do to your hair.

I'm not sure what to do to fix it and it's really bothering me. I can't really comb or brush areas of my head without some of the hair breaking off.

Someone suggested that I should hot-comb it, but I'm not sure if hot-combing relaxed hair is okay. (I thought the hot-comb was for natural hair only)

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment!

Thank You!What To Do With Hair Relaxer Touch-up Trouble?
hmm well i have relaxed hair too, and i get a touch-up every 5 to 6 weeks. you were totally right about damage it can do to your hair if you dont wait long enough, but dont wait toooo long enough, like a few months. thats too long! maybe thats the problem? haha

well heres my suggestion, if you recently got a touch up, wait until the right time to get it again (5-6 weeks is best) but for now, give your hair a break! on the weekends, moisterize it by soaking it with olive oil then wash it out. when you straighten it make sure you use anti-heat sprays and really straighten the puffy parts of your hair well. when you go back to the salon, tell your hair stylist about the problem. ask for options! hope i helped! =] (sorry this answers superr long haha)
